When I first discovered I was going to be Amber & Jake’s Escrick Park Estate Wedding Photographer, I had no idea how much fun it was going to be! We had an absolute ball, from the amazing medieval knights tournament right through to the beautiful BBQ food and the inflatable pub… They threw the perfect day for their guests and it reflected their personalities to a tee.

I really enjoyed photography at Escrick Park Estate in York
If Amber and Jake would have had a wedding in a manor house or a hotel, it may have been beautiful but it wouldn’t have been ‘them’. Their outdoor wedding at Escrick Park was just perfect for them. They designed the whole wedding from the ground up. The accommodation was tents/campers on-site and many people stayed the night before. The ceremony was in the woods with amber arriving on the back of her dads’ motorbike, much to the shock of Jakes Uncle… He made her dress!
After the Escrick Park ceremony, we enjoyed an amazing medieval knights tournament, in which the groom took part (unfortunately getting beat in the second round… sorry Jake).
The inflatable pub supplied us with the (well-used) bar for the day, and there was also an incredible bbq for the outdoor wedding food.
All-in-all, the day turned out just perfect! I only wish I brought my tent!
Locations for portrait photography at Escrick Park Estate
One of the great things about wedding photography at Escrick Park Estate was being able to just nip off for a walk if we wanted to take a few couples photos.
My couples know that I don’t like to take them away for hours at-a-time to have elaborate and awkward photoshoots… but it’s nice to be able to go for a chilled walk through the grounds and have some fun, whilst i document this.
Escrick Park Estate made this nice and east, with some lovely areas of the park and great woodland just a moment away from the reception, drinks and party.
Natural and Relaxed photos at Escrick Park Estate
I could tell so many stories from Amber and Jakes wedding, but I will try to let the photographs do that. Escrick Park Estate provided the perfect venue for my blend of storytelling wedding photography and on this day, I wasn’t ever short of unique happenings to point my lens and camera at.
