Colshaw Hall Knutsford – A Wedding Photographer Perspective

Just outside of Knutsford in the heart of Cheshire, sits Colshaw Hall. The Grade II listed building dates all the way back to 1903 but nowadays has a lovely modern twist. As a photographer, I find it to be an absolutely perfect venue for a relaxed (or totally wild) wedding.

  • Exclusive Wedding Venue, So you won’t have anybody else wondering around on your big day
  • Grade II listed building owned by the Irlam family.
  • Really lovely team, this makes all the difference on the day.
  • Some of the best equipped ‘getting ready’ rooms I think I’ve seen.
  • A stand-alone ceremony room, with its own vibe and feel.
  • Really, REALLY nice food.
  • Great options for accommodation.

Documentary Wedding Photography at Colshaw Hall Knutsford

If you were to look around this website, you’ll find that I am what we call a ‘documentary’ or reportage wedding photographer. This means I don’t remove you from your guests for hours for a posed photo shoot, and I don’t set up cheesy and fake photos. I concentrate predominantly on moments, emotions and stories.

My weddings photographed at Colshaw Hall are no different. If you’re getting married (or thinking of getting married) at Colshaw Hall, and don’t want the same old cheesy photography, then get in touch using the contact page.

Real Weddings at Colshaw Hall – Rhiannon & Ben

Rhiannon and Ben had a beautiful winter wedding at Colshaw Hall Knutsford. I was absolutely over the moon to be part of it. All of the ingredients for a splendid wedding were there… Tears, joy, happiness and Christmas trees! They even managed to bring their absolutely adorable dog to their ceremony.

I arrived at Rhiannon and Bens wedding to shoot bridal prep nice and early. My second photographer for the day, Maurice, covered groom prep in the stunning man-cave. Bridal prep was in the main house. Colshaw Hall supplies a really great set-up for this, with a room specifically for makeup and hair. The house is beautiful, as you would expect from the former family home of the Irlam Family.

It was also fantastic to see Ian, their toastmaster. He always gets the party started nice and early and helps to put everyone at ease.

The wedding ceremony took place in the newly built ceremony room at Colshaw Hall. The room is lovely and bright which is always welcomed for photography. It was great to meet all of the family, even their lovely dog.

When the congratulations had been dished out to the newlyweds, the drinks reception was held indoors to keep everyone toasty and warm. We then carried on to one of the highlights of the day, the speeches. I always love when these are filled with emotions and these specific toasts were top-notch. Something unique though, was when Rhiannon sang for her guests, a total surprise for everyone. She did a great job and had everyone in tears, it was really funny, too.

I was also overjoyed to see everyone up on the dancefloor. After some of the recent happenings in the world, I’m still touched every time I see a party in full swing.

Some Photos from the wedding day

Below are a few of my photographs from the day.

Wedding Photography at Colshaw Hall – Laura & Ben

Another Beautiful Colshaw Hall wedding… Although I can’t say the same for the weather at this one. To say it poured on the day would be a massive understatement. We must have had about a months-worth of rain in one day.

But, and this part is essential, it didn’t ruin the day. I find that the weather is one of the things that brides worry the most about in the weeks preceding their wedding, and yet Laura and Bens’s wedding is a testament to the fact that it doesn’t spoil anything. The people are the same and the love is still flowing, that’s the most important thing.

Colshaw Hall Knutsford PhotoFilm

I love putting my photographs from the day together into a PhotoFilm for my clients to enjoy.
