Getting Ready Together in Manchester City Centre


There’s something about a small city wedding that always feels incredibly personal.


Enobong and Ijay's Manchester Town Hall wedding was exactly that.

Their day began in the apartment they share in Manchester city centre, where everyone got ready together. Family and friends arrived early, coffee was poured, conversations drifted between rooms, and the atmosphere felt relaxed from the very start.


One of the things I love most about smaller weddings is how naturally the day unfolds. Guests aren't waiting around for hours and nobody feels rushed. Everyone is simply part of the day from beginning to end.

Once everyone was ready, we made our way through Manchester together, hopping into taxis bound for Manchester Town Hall.

A Relaxed Manchester Town Hall Wedding Ceremony


The newly restored Manchester Town Hall provides a stunning setting for a wedding ceremony. Surrounded by beautiful architecture and right in the heart of the city, it feels both grand and welcoming at the same time.

Rather than arriving separately, Enobong and Ijay chose to walk into the ceremony together. It felt like a lovely reflection of the day as a whole. Relaxed, intentional and completely their own.


After exchanging vows and officially becoming wife and wife, they stepped outside to cheers, hugs and a shower of confetti from their guests.


We spent a few minutes capturing some group photographs before heading off for a walk through the city.

Wedding Portraits in Manchester City Centre


This was an important part of the day for them.


Manchester has played a huge role in their lives and relationship, so incorporating the city into their wedding photographs felt completely natural. Rather than disappearing for hours to take portraits, we simply wandered through streets that meant something to them, stopping occasionally when the light was good or a backdrop caught our eye.


One of the things I enjoy most about Manchester city centre weddings is the variety you can find within a few minutes' walk. Historic buildings sit alongside modern architecture, busy streets give way to quieter corners, and every part of the city has its own character.


For couples who love the city, it becomes much more than a backdrop. It becomes part of the story.

Why I Love Photographing Small Manchester Weddings


What I loved most about this wedding was how relaxed the whole experience felt.


There was no elaborate plan and no long list of photographs to work through. Just a chance for Enebong and Ijay to spend a little time together, enjoy the moment and take in the fact that they had just got married.

Those quieter moments often become some of my favourite photographs from a wedding day.


After our walk, I left them to continue celebrating with their guests and enjoy the rest of the afternoon together.


As a Manchester wedding photographer, these intimate city centre weddings are always a joy to document. They strip weddings back to what matters most: the people, the atmosphere and the experience of the day itself.


Whether it's a Manchester Town Hall wedding, a restaurant celebration, or a small gathering in the heart of the city, there's something special about seeing couples create a wedding that genuinely reflects who they are.
