I'm Paul, a wedding photographer based between Cheshire & London. I've been photographing weddings, full time and almost exclusively, for 10 years documenting over 300 weddings.
My goal is to find the balance between beauty and emotion. I want my photographs to feel polished but refined, always true to the day, never forced, and to show what it was really like to be there.
The atmosphere of a wedding day continues to inspire me. The energy, nerves and the raw love and emotion. The nods to tradition to the smallest interactions that reveal the most personality.
Outside of weddings, I live in a sleepy market town with my wife Elizabeth, our energetic son Reuben, and a cheeky cat! Together, we will take any excuse to be outdoors or to get lost in the countryside. Always happy in wellies!
My approach to your wedding day.
Much of what I bring to a wedding day comes down to how I like to interact with people. I am calm, work intuitively and like to think I'm easy to be around, helping everything feel natural from the start.
10 years experience has taught me many things, like when to step in and when to hold back and let things unfold. When a little guidance will help, and when the best thing I can do is simply watch and wait.
The aim is always the same though, photographs that feel polished and considered, natural and calm. Never forced, nothing overdone, no cheese.
I'm drawn to weddings with atmosphere. A sense of style and occasion. From huge countryside celebrations to cosy London dinners, it's the character of the day that I'm interested in. The people, the setting, the energy. The moments and details that shape your memories.
The photography should feel effortless to you.
Working Together.
I tend to work with people who care. About the people around them, and about how the day comes together as a whole.
Couples who want their photographs to feel natural and meaningful, as well as beautiful.
You don’t need to know how to pose. You might not think of yourself as photogenic, and you don’t need to perform. I’ll guide you when it helps, but for most of the day I’ll take a step back, so you can feel comfortable and present.
The process should feel easy, personal, and considered. The photographs should feel like a true reflection of the day, captured with care and experience.
