My approach to photography at Sandhole Oak Barn
MY ULTIMATE AIM IS TO GIVE MY COUPLES A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING DAY STORY.
As a proud and respected documentary-style wedding photographer, my style is fun and emotional. I don’t like formal poses and don’t do boring photos, stereotypes or cheesy rubbish! I’ll always be about the quirky moments on every wedding day, and I love unapologetic flowing emotions.
A short and emotional wedding day will have a very different vibe to a 150-guest wedding with grandma dancing on tables. And so the photographs shouldn’t look the same, either. If you can flick through your wedding album on your tenth anniversary and FEEL what it was like to be at your wedding, I’ve done my job well! You don’t get ‘all those feels’ from standing ten people in a line and telling them to smile.

Why Sandhole Oak Barn?
I get it, you might not even be looking for a Sanhole Oak Barn photographer yet. You might not even have a venue and that’s why you’re trawling the internet.
So, Why should Sandhole Oak Barn be on your ‘to see’ list? I’m going to give you some points from a photographers perspective, as that’s kind-of my ‘thing’.
Ceremony Options
Starting with the basics, the ceremony. At Sandhole Oak Barn, you won’t ever be tied to a specific type of ceremony. They are registered for a legal ceremony with registrars, have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony space if the weather is on your side, and will cater to celebrants if that’s your jam.
There are also a few very picturesque churches within a few minutes of the venue.
Getting Ready
As a wedding photographer, I personally love it when the option is there for the entire wedding to happen in one venue. Sandhole Oak Barn gives the option to get ready in their awesome dressing rooms, which to me is more of a house! A new addition is also a cosy shepherds hut by the lake.
Beautiful Grounds and Lake
Being a Sandhole Oak Barn photographer is made easy by the grounds here. The venue is kept relatively compact whilst still making use of a lovely lake and epic views of the Cheshire countryside. Perfect for an afternoon stroll.
Exclusive Use
Let’s be honest here… Everybody wants to feel special on their wedding day. I personally love seeing my wedding couples experience having the venue all to themselves. Emotions first
People look pretty at weddings. Uncle bob can take pretty photos of pretty things on his Ipad.
For me, candid photography is all about the ‘feels’. The emotions, the small touches that tie loved ones together.
Nothing staged, nothing posed
Most of my couples don’t like the idea of being the centre of attention… They aren’t posers! They want a happy, fun day filled with food & alcohol loved ones and celebrations.
And so as a candid wedding photographer, I don’t stage fake moments, and I’ll never tell you to stare lovingly into each others eyes (Eurgh!).
No templates
I turn up to every wedding with an open mind. Your wedding wont be like my last one, or my next one. Your photos shouldn’t be, either! Without any preconceptions, your photos will be about your wedding.
Bold and honest
Real weddings are full of hiccups, drama, ugly crying and tipsy woopsies. Subtle connections between people, blink-and-you-missed-it moments.
I want to capture it all, not just the laughter.
